Army Pays Tribute to Slain Soldier | KNO

Srinagar, 25 Apr 2018 (KNO) : Army today paid befitting tribute to Late Sep Ajay Kumar who attained martyrdom during Counter Terrorist operations on 24 April 2018 in Tral region wherein four terrorists were eliminated.

In a solemn ceremony at BB Cantt, Lt Gen AK Bhatt, Chinar Corps Commander and all ranks, paid homage to the martyr on behalf of a proud nation. In a show of solidarity, representatives from other security agencies also joined in paying their last respects to the martyr. Late Sep Ajay Kumar sustained bullet injury during the fierce operation in Laam Forest in Tral of Pulwama district. He was provided immediate first aid and evacuated to 92 Base Hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

The martyr, Sep Ajay Kumar, was 25 years old and had joined the Army in 2013. He belonged to Village Panjola of Pachhad Tehsil in Sirmaur District, Himachal Pradesh and is survived by his parents and a brother. The mortal remains of the martyr were flown for last rites to his native place, where he would be laid to rest with full military honours. In this hour of grief, the Army stands in solidarity with the bereaved family of the martyr and remains committed to their dignity and well being.
